  • Pesticide Free – There were no pesticides used during the harvesting or growing process.
  • GMO-Free: This means that no product ingredient contains genetically engineered organisms.
  • Certified Organic means that all of the ingredients in the formula were grown using methods that protect the soil, water, air, wildlife, and farmers.


What are the top organic products?

Today, organic foods are the fastest-growing industries. There is still much to be done, even though we have come so far from our roots.

Organic products are the future. They are safer, better for our environment, and more affordable for consumers.

However, they are also more expensive. That is why we developed the Organic Food Index. We wanted to know which foods are popular today and whether trends are changing.

The results of the study show that organic food has become more popular. Between 2011-2012, nearly half of Americans shopped for organic foods.

The USDA reports that organic production increased 10% last year. Organic food now accounts for 9% of U.S. agricultural output.

Although organic food is gaining popularity, it appears that consumers still have to pay a premium for it. The average retail price for organic food is almost twice that of conventional foods, according to the Organic Trade Association (OTA).

The organic food sector is growing faster than other segments of the food supply. If you look closely at the data, it will be apparent that organic food consumption has steadily increased since 2009.

According to OTA, organic products sold in supermarkets grew 14% between 2010-2011.

This increase is due to consumers' demand for healthier foods. It is why organic food sales are growing across all ages.

The younger generation is however leading the charge for organic food. Millennials are twice likely to choose organic food than the baby boomers. Young adults below 35 years of age account for 25%.


What's the difference between organic foods and inorganic food?

Organic food is grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, sewage effluent, radiation, or genetic modification. Organic farming practices promote soil health, water quality and animal welfare.

Inorganic foods are grown with pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and sewage sludge. Radiation is used to treat irradiated food; biological engineering techniques are used to create genetically modified organisms (GMO).

"Natural" is sometimes used interchangeably in the context of "organic." Natural does not necessarily have to mean organic. Products labelled "natural", however, may contain synthetic chemicals.

Organic produce is usually more nutritious that conventional produce. This is because organic soil contains fewer toxic chemicals and pesticides. Organic farmers are free from artificial fertilizers and pesticides.

Organic farming allows farmers to produce food using only natural methods. Farmers do not need to worry about harmful pesticides harming their crops or animals.

Organic farming is also sustainable. For example, organic farming uses composting techniques to re-use nutrients in the soil. This reduces pollution and preserves valuable resources.

Organic farming improves crop yields while also helping the environment. This is due to the fact that organic farming uses much less water during growth season.

Organic farming methods can also result in higher prices for farmers' produce. Consumers who become more aware of the dangers of pesticides and chemical fertilizers demand healthier foods.

This raises the demand to produce organic food products. Organic farming is gaining popularity because of these reasons.

What happens when you switch from conventional products to organic?

Organic products can be grown without synthetic fertilizers, hormones or antibiotics. They come only from natural sources of water and free-range animals. Organic means that they are free from chemicals and additives. This product was naturally produced and contains no harmful chemicals.

The term "natural" refers to how food is grown. It is used to describe food that has not been processed into its final form, such as fruits. Natural foods are usually fresher than processed foods, as they haven’t been exposed to heat, radiation, chemical preservatives, or other treatments. Some people don't believe that natural means healthy. Experts believe there is no difference in organic and conventional food. Both types are tested for safety as well as quality. Organic produce is safer than conventionally produced produce.

Most grocery stores offer organic options. Check with your local market if you want organic meat, poultry, dairy, eggs, and seafood. Some companies sell only organic products. Other companies have separate sections. USDA Certified Organic, Non GMO Project Verified. Biodynamic Association Certified. Rainforest Alliance Certified.
