Frequently Asked Questions
What are the most loved organic products?
Organic food is the fastest-growing industry today. We've come far from our roots but there is still room for improvement.
Organic products are the future. Organic products are safer and better for the environment. They also make it more affordable for consumers.
However, they are also more expensive. That's why we created the Organic Food Index. We wanted to find out which foods are most popular with shoppers today, and whether these trends are changing.
These findings show that organic foods are becoming more popular. Between 2011 & 2012, almost half of Americans purchased organic food.
The USDA reported that organic production rose by 10% in the last year. 9% now comes from organic foods in the United States.
Although organic food is gaining popularity, it appears that consumers still have to pay a premium for it. The Organic Trade Association (OTA) reports that organic food retail prices average almost double the price of conventional foods.
The organic food sector is growing faster than other segments of the food supply. You can see that organic food has been steadily increasing since 2009.
According to OTA the volume of organic products sold at supermarkets grew by 14% in 2010 and 2011.
This increase reflects consumer demand for healthier foods, which explains why organic food sales are increasing across all age groups.
Younger generations are also leading the way in organic food choices. Millennials are twice as likely than baby boomers to buy organic foods. And young adults under 35 years old account for 25% of all organic food purchases.

In this article, I will share my tips and tricks for buying organic meat without having to break the bank.
I'll give you some tips about where to find organic meats at a low price and how much it costs per pound. You will learn how to make the best out of what you purchase.
To eat well, you don't have to spend a lot. Sometimes you need to be creative in order to save money and still eat healthy. Here are some ways you can cut down on food expenses while still getting the best from organic meat.
- Buy at wholesale clubs - Costco and Sams Club are great places to shop for bulk foods like chicken breasts and pork chops. If you are fortunate enough to live near one, you may be able get discounts up to 50 lbs on large quantities. This way, you won't waste any meat. Also, if you buy in bulk, it can be frozen so it lasts for longer.
- Shopping online is easy - There are tons of websites that sell meat at reduced prices. For example, Amazon has a weekly deal called Prime Pantry, which includes free shipping on orders over $35. They offer discounts on beef roasts, ground beef, lamb steaks, and pork loins. You can browse their website and view what's on sale at different times.
- Find a local farmer - Local farmers usually charge less than big box retailers because they do not pay considerable fees to stock their shelves. Because they know exactly the diets and drinks of their animals, local farmers can provide a better understanding of what's inside.
- Look for meat cuts that are leanest - Lean meat is generally cheaper to cook than fatty meat. So, look for the leanest cuts. The most popular cuts are flank steak, sirloin steak and tenderloin roast. These cuts are very low in fat and high in protein.
- Explore new recipes. Don't be afraid of trying new things. Cooking with new ingredients is one of the best ways to cut your grocery bills. You may be amazed at the variety of delicious dishes that you can make with fresh tomatoes, onions garlic, olive oil and spices.
- Remaining meat and poultry can be used for sandwiches, salads or soups. It's easy to make quick lunches and dinners with leftover meat.
That's it! These are my top tips for how to get organic meat on a tight budget. What other tips do you have? Any other suggestions?
