Why is organic food important

Our health is dependent on organic produce. Organic produce is the best way to eat healthy foods. It's healthier for us as well as more environmentally-friendly because it doesn’t rely on pesticides, fertilizers, or other chemicals.

Organic farming uses natural methods to grow crops without harmful chemicals. This makes organic farming safer for both humans and animals. Organic food is a way to help the environment and protect yourself.

The benefits of organic food go beyond our health, though. We all know the negative effects that processed foods can have on our health. Organic fruits and vegetables aren’t subject to chemicals spray. They taste fresher, look better and last longer.

Because of this, organic foods are so important. Because organic is healthier for you as well as for the world.

Is organic the same as pesticide-free?

Organic food is naturally chemical-free and grows without pesticides. This means organic food is free from pesticides and fertilizers.

Because it is free from harmful additives, organic produce has higher nutritional value than conventionally produced food.

The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) requires farmers to follow strict guidelines for growing crops certified as organic.

These guidelines include soil preparation, crop rotation, pest control, water conservation, and harvesting practices.

Organic farming methods are also beneficial for wildlife and natural habitats.

Is organic food healthier?

There are two types, those we grow our own and those we purchase from another source. While there are exceptions, the general answer is yes to both. Organic food is healthier as it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals or pesticides, herbicides and preservatives.

Organic food can be found in supermarkets throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Many grocery stores now sell organic food. This makes it easier for customers to select organic products.

Organic food tastes better and is more nutritious, as it has higher levels of vitamins and minerals. Organics are also grown without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, so they don't pollute our soils and water supplies.

Organic farming is regulated by the USDA. Farmers must follow strict guidelines to ensure safe eating. There are currently more than 30,000,000 acres of US farmland which have been designated organic.

Organic food can often be cheaper than conventional food. Consumers are paying less for the same amount of calories, protein, and nutrients. Organic farms don't have the expense of expensive chemical inputs, such as insecticides and/or fungicides. They can charge lower prices.

In fact, according to the Environmental Working Group, organic food costs 10 percent less per pound than conventionally produced food. You can make a change to organic food if your family is concerned about their health.

Organic food is becoming a popular option to the standard American diet. Although many may think that organic food is only available at specialty markets and gourmet restaurants, this isn't true. Organic food can be purchased in most grocery stores across the United States.

Organic food sales have increased significantly in recent years. The market value of organic food in the US was $43 billion in 2012, up from $21 billion in 2007.

What is organic meat?

Organic meat is real food grown without pesticides, artificial fertilizers, or hormones. It also means that the animals weren't fed any genetically modified feed. It is safe to eat because it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals.

Organic meats are better for the environment. The pollution levels in our environment are reduced when we eat organic foods. Organic farmers generally don't use toxic chemicals that kill birds and insects. We help to protect wildlife.

Buy organic meats whenever possible. This is the best way for you to eat healthy, organic meats. Local buying helps to keep money in the community, rather than moving out of state. Local businesses often pass on savings to customers shopping locally. In addition, buying local keeps jobs right here in America instead of sending them overseas.

Is organic food better for us?

The Environmental Working Group's most recent report on pesticide residues found in food shows that organic fruits and veggies had almost half the pesticide content of non-organic. The Environmental Working Group found that organic apples contained eight-times less pesticides than other non-organic fruits, and organic strawberries had fourfold more than their conventional counterparts.

Studies have also shown that organic foods reduce the risk of mercury and lead poisoning. For instance, one study showed that children who consumed organic meat had 33% less blood lead levels than children who did not. Another study concluded that pregnant mothers should avoid eating conventional fish because of the high levels mercury.

Organic food appears to be more safe than non-organic. Experts recommend eating fresh fruits and veggies whenever possible to reduce the chance of developing cancer.

What is an inorganic food?

Organic food is made without pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Inorganic foods contain these chemicals, which may cause health problems.

Organic food is free from harmful substances like pesticides and herbicides. These chemicals can be dangerous for both humans and animals.

Inorganic foods are meats, fishes, eggs, buttermilk, cheese, yogurt and honey as well as vegetables, fruits and spices.

Organic refers specifically to the method an agricultural product has been grown. Organic farming, for example, uses natural methods and soil amendments in order to grow crops. Conventional farming, however, uses pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), must ensure that organic food meets strict standards. The National Organic Program Standards require that all organic foods are free of prohibited substances such as antibiotics and growth hormones, genetically modified organisms or industrial solvents. Organic food must not be produced with toxic chemicals, petroleum or sewage sludges or ionizing radioactive substances.

What happens to your body if you switch to organic products

Organic products can be grown without synthetic fertilizers, hormones or antibiotics. They are free-range and come from clean water sources. Organic means that they are free from chemicals and additives. This product is natural and does not contain any harmful substances.

The term "natural" refers how food is grown. It is used to describe food that has not been processed into its final form, such as fruits. Natural foods are often fresher than others because they haven't been treated with heat, radiation, or chemical preservatives. Natural doesn't necessarily have to be healthy, however.
