Frequently Asked Questions

What are organic fruits?

Organic food does not contain pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. They contain more nutrients such vitamins A, C. E, and, in some cases, omega-3 oils. Organic food is better for the earth and our bodies because of these healthy ingredients.

Organic foods are made using sustainable agricultural practices, which protect soil quality and promote biodiversity. They are made without the use of harmful chemicals, irradiation or sewage waste.

Many organic products are not associated with produce. They include dairy and meat, poultry, eggs baked goods, pet food, household cleaning supplies, and personal care products.

The USDA defines organic as crops grown in accordance with strict federal regulations. These foods cannot be grown by farmers using conventional methods. They can use approved natural pest control methods such as crop rotation, cover cropping and organic animal feed.

Further, the farmer must be careful about the amount of pesticide and fertilizer he uses in the growing season. GMOs (genetically modified organisms), synthetic growth hormones and insecticides as well as synthetic fertilizers are prohibited by farmers.

Fruits and vegetables labelled "100% organic" meet all the requirements above. Some farms don't label their products 100% organic, as it could confuse consumers. Instead, they will label the product as "made from organic ingredients". "

Why is organic produce important?

It is essential for our health to eat organic produce. Organic produce is the best way to eat healthy foods. It's not only better for us but also it's more sustainable as it doesn't rely upon pesticides and fertilers.

Organic farming relies on natural methods to cultivate crops, without the use of harmful chemicals. This reduces the risk of environmental pollution, which makes it safer for people and animals. So when you choose organic food, you're helping to protect yourself and the planet.

The benefits of organic food go beyond our health, though. We all know how toxic processed food can make you feel. However, organic fruits & vegetables aren’t treated with chemical sprays. It means that organic fruits and vegetables taste better, last longer, and are brighter.

Organic food is so important. Organic food is not only healthier for you but also for the whole world.

Why should organic be my first choice?

Conventional agriculture has been linked with many health problems including asthma, allergies. Healthy choices must be made when purchasing food.

The Environmental Working Group offers these tips:

As much as possible, purchase organic fruits or vegetables

USDA organic labels for meat, poultry eggs, milk and cheese as well butter and honey are recommended.

Avoid processed foods that are labeled "natural" or "no added ingredients."

Make sure you read through all the ingredients. If an ingredient doesn't appear on the list, it could be added to the product during processing.

It is better to eat fresh meats than canned or frozen. Many frozen and canned foods contain less nutrients, like high fructose Corn Syrup.

  2. Eco-friendliness. Organic produce is low in water consumption. Because conventional farming requires so much energy, organic farms are usually located far from places where pollution is high. That helps reduce air pollution.
  3. Sustainability. Organic farming relies on soil fertility rather than chemical fertilizers; this results in healthier soils with higher levels of organic matter. Rotating crops and allowing the soil to rest between harvests improves soil health. Strong immune systems develop when farm animals are fed only grasses grown without antibiotics or added hormones.
