What is inorganic?

Organic food is organically grown without the use of harmful chemicals such as pesticides or herbicides. These chemicals can cause harm to animals and humans.

What is organic food?

Organic produce is free from synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, sewage sludge and confinement feeding. No growth hormones are used, and there is no animal testing. These crops are allowed to grow naturally, so farmers do not use chemicals to prevent weeds or pests.

Organic farming practices preserve soil quality and help conserve water resources. In addition, organics are better for our health because they contain more nutrients than conventional food. Organic products are more nutritious than conventionally grown foods and have lower calories and fiber.


What should I be looking out for when shopping organic products

USDA-certified organic labels should be sought. This certification means that the product is certified organic by USDA. You will find the USDA Organic seal on all boxes, cartons and cans.

When purchasing meat, ensure it is 100% organic. Cattle are ruminants, which means they chew the cud. Ruminant cattle are divided into four stomach compartments, the rumen and reticulum as well as the omasum and abmasum. If the cow is to be labeled "100% organic", all of its parts must have been organically fed.

When buying chicken, make sure it comes only from chickens fed 100% organic feed and never given antibiotics. Omnivore chickens eat both animals and plants. The digestive tract of an omnivorous chicken is composed of a crop and proventriculus, gizzard as well as small intestine, large intestinale, and anus.

Buy dairy products that are 100% organically produced. Just like ruminants, dairy cows also have four stomachs. The fourth stomach compartment is the udder.

When purchasing other types of livestock, check the label to see what percentage of the diet the animals were fed. For example, pork may be marked "95% organic" to indicate that 95 percent of the pork's feed is organic.

What happens when you switch from conventional products to organic?

Organic products are produced without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They are free-range and come from clean water sources. They are organic because they don't contain any additives or chemicals. This product was produced by nature and therefore contains no harmful substances.

The term "natural" refers to how food is grown. This term is often used to refer to foods that are not processed into final forms (such as fruits). Natural foods are usually fresher than processed foods, as they haven’t been exposed to heat, radiation, chemical preservatives, or other treatments. Some people don't believe that natural means healthy. Experts agree that organic and conventional foods are very similar. Both types have been tested for quality and safety. Organic produce has less pesticide residues and pollutant than conventionally grown food.

Most grocery shops now carry organic options. Organic meat, poultry or eggs can be found at most local markets. Some companies only sell organic products, while others offer separate sections. USDA Certified Organic is a non-GMO Project Verified company.

If you are pregnant, or nursing, these products should not be eaten. Unborn babies and infants can be exposed to pesticides.
