Frequently Asked Questions

Organic foods are better for us.

The Environmental Working Group's most recent report on pesticide residues found in food shows that organic fruits and veggies had almost half the pesticide content of non-organic. The Environmental Working Group found that organic apples contained eight-times less pesticides than other non-organic fruits, and organic strawberries had fourfold more than their conventional counterparts.

Some studies also suggest that eating organic food helps reduce your exposure to toxic metals, such as mercury and lead. A study concluded that children who ate organic meat had 33% lower levels of blood lead than those who didn’t. Another study concluded traditional fish should not be consumed by pregnant women, due to high mercury levels.

Organic food seems to be safer than the non-organic. Experts recommend fresh vegetables and fruits whenever possible in order to reduce the risk of getting cancer.

What's the difference?

Organic food does not contain pesticides, chemical fertilisers, sewage waste, irradiation, genetic modification. Organic farming practices are good for soil health, water quality, animal welfare, and the environment.

Inorganic foods are produced using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and sewage effluent. Irradiated foods are treated with radiation; genetically modified organisms (GMO) are created through biological engineering techniques.

Sometimes, the term "natural", is used interchangeably with "organic." But natural does not necessarily imply organic. Natural products can also be labeled with synthetic ingredients.

Organic produce is more nutritious than traditional produce due to the fact that it contains less harmful chemicals and pesticides. Organic farmers are free from artificial fertilizers and pesticides.

What are organic fruits?

Organic foods are free of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. They are also richer in nutrients like vitamins C, E, K, and omega-3 fat acids. These ingredients are good for our bodies as well as the planet.

Organic foods are grown using sustainable farming practices that preserve soil quality and encourage biological diversity. They are produced without harmful chemicals, irradiation, or sewage sludge.

Most people associate organics with fruits, but organic products also include dairy, meat and poultry, as well as baked goods, personal care items, pet food and household cleaning supplies.

According to the USDA, "organic" means that crops are raised in compliance with federal standards. Farmers cannot use conventional (non-organic) methods to grow these foods. However, they may use approved natural pest control methods, such as crop rotation and cover cropping, and animal feed made from organic materials.

Additionally, the farmer must adhere to guidelines concerning the amount of fertilizer and pesticide that he uses during the growing seasons and how he rotates his fields among various crops. Farmers cannot use genetically modified organisms (GMOs), artificial growth hormones, synthetic insecticides, or synthetic fertilizers.

Fruits and vegetables labelled "100% organic" meet all the requirements above. Some farms don't label their products 100% organic, as it could confuse consumers. Instead, they will say that their product is "made with organic components". "

What are organic beauty products?

Organic Beauty Products contain natural ingredients without artificial chemicals, such as parabens and phenoxyethanol. These ingredients are commonly found in conventional beauty products like cosmetics, shampoos, and perfumes.

Organic beauty products do not require animal testing and are free of genetically modified organisms (GMO).

The USDA defines organic as "a system for production that fosters recycling of resources". It has been used over the years to describe foods grown without pesticides.

Because of the damaging effects of chemical substances on our health, there has been an increase in demand for eco friendly beauty products.

These include cancer, allergies, skin irritation, hormonal imbalance, and premature aging.

Organic beauty businesses are committed to providing safe, healthy products that consumers can use while protecting the environment.

How To

5 Reasons to Buy Organic Products

Organic food is grown without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. They do not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or radioactive ingredients. Their production methods do not involve sewage sludge or industrial solvents. During its growth, the food's natural environment remains unaffected by contamination. It is completely free from artificial preservatives, additives, and other harmful chemicals. There is no use of antibiotics or hormones. In addition, they are produced under conditions that allow them to retain their nutritional value and freshness for longer periods.

  1. Health benefits. Nonorganic produce is more chemically-laden than organic. This means it's less likely to cause allergies and sensitivities. You also consume fewer toxic substances and carcinogens.
  2. Eco-friendliness. Organically grown produce doesn't require synthetic fertilizer or pesticides. Organic farms are located far from cities where there is a lot of pollution, because they require so much energy to grow. This helps to reduce the amount of air pollution.
  3. Sustainability. Organic farming relies less on chemical fertilizers and more on soil fertility. This results with healthier soils with greater organic matter. It is better for soil health to rotate crops and allow the land to fallow regularly. Farm animals that eat only grasses, grains and no antibiotics develop strong immune systems.
  4. Taste. Because they are picked at their peak ripeness and then shipped long distances to supermarkets, conventional fruits and vegetables can often taste bland. Organic produce tastes richer and sweeter because it was harvested while still unripe.
  5. Nutrition. Many conventional processed foods contain harmful substances like BPA and GMOs. These harmful substances can be avoided by sticking to whole foods like meat, eggs, fish and nuts as well as seeds, beans, fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
